Angelica Rivas-Kennedy is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who specializes in providing counseling and therapy services for Spanish-speaking children, teens, young adults, and their families. Born in Lima, Peru, Angelica immigrated to Chicago as a teenager in the 90s, and ultimately to Douglasville in 2003. Angelica graduated from Kennesaw State University with her bachelors in psychology, and subsequently went on to get her master’s degree in social work from the same University.
For the past 10 years Angelica has been working on an Atlanta-based nonprofit, formerly called CETPA, that has been one of the sole resources for mental health for the Spanish-speaking population in Georgia. Angelica has provided therapy services to countless individuals across the age spectrum at CETPA, and is now in senior management at the organization.
Currently, Angelica is the Executive Director of a nonprofit in Douglasville that also provides critically needed mental health and wellness services to the Spanish-speaking community of west Georgia. Asociacion Latino Americana para la Salud – or ALAS for short – is a 501c3 nonprofit that opened its doors February 1st of this year. In addition to mental health services, ALAS plans to provide parenting workshops, as well as education right workshops for members of the Spanish-speaking community starting this Spring.
